When you rent Via Ferrata gear from Basecamp Ouray for both the Ouray Via Ferrata and the Gold Mountain Via Ferrata. When renting with us, you receive high-quality, well-maintained equipment essential for a safe and enjoyable climbing experience. Our gear kits include a climbing harness, a specialized Via Ferrata lanyard system, and a helmet. Each piece is rigorously checked for safety and performance, ensuring you have reliable equipment for your adventure. Please note, we do not rent clothing or footwear, so come prepared with appropriate attire for your climb.

Age and Weight Restrictions: At Basecamp Ouray, Via Ferrata gear rental is open to clients 18 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian. Adhering to the 2023 Ouray Via Ferrata regulations, we strictly follow weight limits (90lbs-265lbs/40kg-120kg) for climbers on both Upstream and Downstream Routes. Those outside these limits must have a professional guide.

Experience Restriction: Climbing experience is required. You must be able to put on a harness by yourself.

Waivers and Refunds: Ensure a smooth experience by signing waivers online before arrival. Remember, due to high demand, we cannot offer refunds on rental gear for any reason.
